Overclock Help???

I have an ASUS P6X58D Premium mobo. I've been reading this Users Guide and am a little confused as to how I'm specifically supposed to overclock this thing. I already know to go into the BIOS...I already changed my ram settings from 1066 to 1600 that way. Would anybody smarter than me care to help?

Other specs include

Intel i7 950 processor (Intel 980 Extreme Heatsink fan)
Nvidia GTX 560 ti
16 GB Kingston HyperX 1600MHz DDR3 ram
2x 1.5 TB Seagate 6GB/s HDD

I would be extremely grateful to anybody who could help.

Thanks A-hole. I already tried that and read several dozen threads or I wouldn't have posted here. I should have posted the same thing when you asked for help with your Xperia.

@BobbyBangin download this http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

Make a screenshot and upload it.
Also we can check to undercloack rams or making something about them.
Bare in mind that it's a slow process not an easy one and you have to perform some stress tests.

Just because I didn't get the same result as you doesn't mean I didn't Google it. I didn't have any videos pop up in my search. Just tech threads. Thanks for the help though. That's what I needed without the smart-ass comments.

Also, @Firebuble the video comments go on to state that it doesn't work for the i7 950 which is what I have.

Changing cpu speed to higher than standard is how you overclock. Settings in bios varys system to system. Increasing speed creates more heat. Overclocking usually voids any warranty you may have

I have an intake fan in the front at 2000 RPM's and one on the rear side at 1200 RPM and an exhaust fan in the back at 1200 RPM's. I have the Intel 980 extreme heatsink fan on the processor. Do you think that will be okay to overclock? The only parts I bought brand new were the RAM and HDD's. Everything else I bought used except for the tower and USB 3.0/card readers. So I'm not worried about warranty too much. I just don't want to fry anything...and I don't want it to sound like a vacuum cleaner.

It's enough but seeing your mid-tower case i will change that rear of 1200 RPM to 2000 RPM one.

I have a full-tower with WC.
Only risk while you are doing some OC until you got something stable is the temps.
Anyway it's a failsafe that when the CPU reaches certain high temp = PC will shutdown.

You also have to check if your CPU as your mobo let's you keep going higher and stable.
Adjusting voltages and many other things.

Also as i said to you when you run stress tests with prime, temperature will be higher there you will notice if your airflow is enough.
