I think its too advanced for them to understand that a console with lower specs CAN indeed run new games that their SuPeR DuPeR ElItE i5 gAmInG rIg can AND with pretty damn sweet visuals too.

comparing console specs in PC terms is just silly IMO

e.g. take the wii-u specs and try playing BO2 with a pc built to match and be disappointed by the results

a lot of research has gone into the next-gen lineup and as others have said, take away the bloated crap that would slow a system down like the full blown OS of a pc and the system can perform faster

I don't think anybody argued that consoles couldn't run newer games. They just run them on the lowest possible settings, a lot of the time at sub HD resolutions and you're lucky to maintain thirty frames per second.

Coincidentally, I happen to own a Super Duper Elite i5 Gaming Rig and I am loving it. I love being able to play Hitman: Absolution at 120+ frames per second. Hell, I love hitting over 100 frames per second on just about every game that I play in native 1080P.

They get all fanboyish as soon as you say that consoles can run the same games that there pc can, at acceptable visuals.
And even though they know its true they will still spill out technical babble at a mile a minute like it makes any difference.

CONSOLES CANT BE COMPARED TO PCS FOR THE LAST DAMN TIME!!!

They are proprietry gaming equipment released with the intent of being able to play upcoming games for the next ten years, not an upgradable gaming rig that changes with the times.

if so then yes the consoles will rival and surpass your pc

I just checked and all that resource hogging crap is only using 1% of my CPU. I bet when you're just sitting on the XMB or Dashboard, more than 1% of your consoles CPU is being used...

And 28% of my RAM is being used, but NO GAME I play uses up the whole 8GB anyway so that doesn't even matter...

I agree also. I personally think its a bad idea to directly compare feature console gpu specs with current pc gpu specs, but instead research on the specs and bare in mind that consoles use most of the horsepower for gaming. Check eg. ps3 and xbox 360 specs. They stayed strong for at least 3-4 years comparing to a pc. Ok now they are like comparing day with night (consoles vs pc). Thats the point why they release next gen consoles. To be competitive but not to overtake pc's because pc's are upgradable and they can be pretty expensive hobby
