comparing performance of a console on a direct comparison pc is silly. why are you being so argumentative on this?

My first computer i bought, about six - seven years ago, was second hand, it had a single core 1.3Ghz processor and about 256Mb ram and a 20GB HDD.

The one i am using now, which is in that image, is about four years old, it came with 4GB ram, i just added another 4, which was cheaper back then.

I definitely don't do that. Its just that it baffles me how many people compare upcoming consoles to their current PCs every time there is a rumour article about Orbis and Durango specs.

Okay I'll give you that. If somebody was actually stupid enough to build a PC with the exact same specs as a console (Wii U for example) then it would be a recipe for disaster.

I need to know if they're worth buying before I buy them, and comparing their specs to mine is the best way for me to determine what they are capable of.

Specs are important regardless because without them... guess what? You don't get games. Look at the original Wii.

How much of it is shovelware or exclusives made by Nintendo? Because that's pretty much all you can get on it.

Respectable third-parties didn't want anything to do with it and most high rated third party games were nowhere to be found on the Wii.

i bought it for the exclusives mainly but all the lego games, epic mickey and rabbids keep the kids happy and tiger woods kept me happy for ages as the controls are perfect for it

there are more games on the wii suitable for kids than any other console i have had which means its worth every penny its had from me. i honestly cannot ask or expect more from it

hardcore gamers are not nintendos main target. i knew that when i bought the system so i have had no issue whatsoever nor complaints about lack of games for it as there is always something good to fit my needs

sadly, out of all consoles i have had, the ps3 is the one that has disappointed me the most
i really hope that next-gen systems are not too similar as is the case with current xbox/ps3 and both bring original and exclusive content/functionality to warrant the purchase of both but microsoft will get my first batch of cash followed by orbis (subject to reviews/tests)
the kids are getting a wii-u when i finish paying my current credit off
