I was offered to review one and since I do not have a CFW PS3 they said they would send one along with it. However, my living situation is not the best now so I don't really have the time (or a place) to do the review. A free PS3 would of been nice. Oh, well.

I don't see this selling until it supports BD-ROM key extraction without CFW thus allowing support for slim/sslim models. So my review would of not ended with the best remarks I assume.

I only see this being useful for someone who has CFW that wants to go online and give up CFW benefits or useful for certain cases when the BD-ROM drive is not working and the keys can still be extracted. Does anyone else see any use of this ODDE (reasonable, not "shove it in your arse")?

The price is high considering what resellers pay for it - a $30-40 mark up per device is a lot.

I was testing it and I let my son test it out and he was playing Black Ops 2 copy Online for 4 days now and no ban Yet...Woot OFW 4.31

Yes, by Cobra's ODDE which has the ability to extract the BD-ROM drive keys from any console; PHAT, SLIM or SUPER SLIM. Meaning it will work on OFW consoles without needing CFW first. It ships next week.

If you meant by software then I think you should go read what a ODDE is, how it operates and the fact they way is does operate cannot be done via software only as it requires a physical logic board to be connected to the console (Wii, 360 and now PS3).

Great news. I am glad there is finally a proper solution for backups as you lose no functionality by using an ODDE - which is what makes it proper.

Hmm, i wonder about that. Can you use an ODDE AND a your BD-DRIVE? (probably not)
Also i wonder if sony will find a way to detect an ODE.

Yeah, go figure huh. But i wonder how long untill they include support for the 3k/4k series

I wonder if Sony can track the time it takes for the loading of the game and the slight lag the will be in ode to load a game?

Yes, indeed they have their means but it's not *rentable* to eliminate this product from the market.
They don't gave a flying **** about DRM stances, i doubt with ODE (the final act of this never ending drama) will do anything about it.

Besides product is expensive. I hope it's not like E3 limited edition quality or some users will get angry.
