PS3 dies when turning on
I downgraded with E3 flasher and did everything in the tutorial. It all worked and i had rogero installed. Next day the ps3 dies after ½ sec when turning on. The only way to get new power is to unplug the cord and put it in again. And when turning on again it does the same...
What could be the problem? It worked great yesterday... Last edited by Muffen; 02-06-2013 at 12:17 PM. |

are you sure that your PS3 worked well AFTER the whole hacking progress?
what exactly are the lights when the PS3 is in standby (led -> red) and you turn it on does it go green then 3 beeps + blinking yellow light then red light then LED off? (not standby completly shut down) if yes then that seems like a YLOD if your PS3 turns on with a blinking red light (3 beeps also) then turns off then you bricked it

Yeah I really hope so. I'll try disassembly the PS3 and put it together again to see if that will work. ![]() Other ideas are welcome! ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* I opened the PS3 upper case and removed the power supply and put it on again, now it works without case on. I'll try to put the upper case on and see if it maybe were too tight (that's what he said) or something

You did not change thermal compound. Your CPU was running hours after hours at temps like 100c and your GPU did exactly the same, your Solder got ruined and thats whats must be happening...
When disassembling a console, that "kind of" thermal compound what used to make like 20% contact between cpu/gpu and cooler gets completely ruined and after that you enjoy 1% of thermal contact if not even less. I got a CECH21xx my self here... Running at 59c/55c, before I changed thermal compound she was 77/70
