Why in the flying **** is there there a dongle? WHY IS IT NOT A SIMPLE USB CONNECTOR?

And that right there tells me there is something that can be done with software that this turd of hardware is hiding.

To me this doesnt make sense. There are no games that dont work with 4.xx cfw right now. And you have to be on a cfw console to get your drive key.

So right now..
1. Extract your drive key and use this on ofw 4.31. Play all games for 129 bucks. But you can play online and sony wont know supposedly.

2. Or update to 4.xx cfw with no online and play all games for 0 bucks...

Or use option two and buy a new ps3 for 120 more than option 1 and play online...

Hmmm thats a hard one ;P

Oh yeah? the connection probably has a purpose. like controlling the board to mount a new image most likely. the USB port probably just supplies power to the drive. that ribbon/dongle probably does all the comunication with the device and I can assure you software can not make a physical drive emulator. How the hell could you even kind of think this? yes software can emulate and do everything this device does thats well known. the point is the way it works lets this hack be used on OFW once you are set up. It's not homebvrew it's not special software its a physical piece of hardware that emulates the disc drive. The only downside here is that it will only work on consoles that can be hacked right now.

Bit pricey for something that doesnt bring much to the table.... yet. I wonder who will be first to create homebrew on a "disc"?

its not hard to convert homebrew to disc version , the problem would be signing the homebrew .
