Thumbs up

oh..tempted again..can this boot anything special..lets say with btldr ..damnit another brainfart with them files...ok where's update 7, must agree that the cfw is very stable running, the options/flags then again..if ur ever used Rebug u wil know, its so easy todo "most" of this already via the Toolbox, for this it needs one to reboot PS3 many times, or atleast for the testing...then we have some "unknown howto" flags that looks interesting like "custom_boot_nor a beautifull japanese girl told me it has to do with "otheros" ?! that "custom_boot" flag, also the second "lv2kernel"...anyone got this shiiiiiiiit workng ?

Core 2.7.2 With lots of improvements:

Changelog:

* Removed the flag "enter/exitfactory", enter FSM using "power+ejct" trick(no dongle!!) and "exit" FSM using the 202KB - Lv2diag.self

* Added flag "installbdemu"
this flag when activated permanently installs the "bdemu" flag, causing the bdemu to load always and no need to set flag each time when needed..

* The Core 2.7.2 is from now on installed/copied to "dev_flash" root and is permanently executed on each boot:

the Core is run from internal hdd
no need to add "cellftp.self" to the root of the USB memory stick
just add the "flag" folder+copy_script.txt and the desired "flag" needed to execute on boot ps3

UPDATE the Core later on ( 2.7.3...)
drop the folder "updatecore" with the latest Core "cellftp.self" in it and "copy_scripty.txt" to the USB memory stick, boot console to UPDATE the Core to e.g 2.7.3

this way the Core gets copied/updated on the internal HDD > "dev_flash\cellftp.self"

* Added a new flag "nosearch" to make the new Core set complete.

when running the "nosearch" flag it removes/de-activates the Core + the "auto-search" on boot for flags on the USB memory stick each boot
one can use the "default" Core+flag on USB memory stick way..??
This greatly improves the boot time and the controllers synchronizing?!
[color]the game controller stil unsyncs if using it to boot console![/color]

* To finish off the new Core and the "nosearch" flag, as this flag removes the auto "search flags" on boot!
created a "ResetCore.pkg" to reset the Core back to default/ON = search flags back ON after running PKG

Then if there's a new Core release, just drop the "updatecore" folder + copy_script.txt to the USB memory stick and the Core takes care of it on booting the PS3 ( updates the Core on "dev_flash" to e.g cellftp.self 2.7.3)

* Added new flag "flashnor" using the default "root" path on the USB memory stick > Core looks for the NOR dump to restore/flash! @ /dev_usb000/nordump.bin
Code:

!!Be warned...only use this flag if u know what ur doing! ..else leave the FLAG ALONE!! it can easely BRICK the console!!
* Fixed "boot_otheros" flag...now loads fine xD

* Added new flag "dumplv1" : creates a lv1dump on the root of the USB memorystick > "dev_usb000/lv1dump.bin" of LV1 -- 16MB's

* Deleted the flag "payloaderDEV"

reason bein..all managers have there own latest "payload" included...why use mine when the others are more up-2-date?!

* Fixed an error that colided with the IRISMANAGER CODE..works fine now, the manager no longer asks u for a "reboot"

What's cool?

The created ResetCore.pkg to reset the new added flag "nosearch" to reset the Core to it's original "auto search flags" on each boot

Basic Instructions:
--------------------

1) Put the "flags" folder on the root of USB memorystick with the flag u need to execute on booting ( ! never use all flags together! only the ones u'll need to perform on boot)

2) The Core (cellftp.self) runs from the internal HDD now, so it's not required to have "cellftp.self" on the root, only when u remove the auto-search with the "nosearch" flag, then one could use it the old way

3) always include the file "copy_script.txt" on the root

e.g:

flags added to the "flags" folder >> dumplv1/dumplv2/nordump + copy_script.txt wil execute the "Core from dev_flash/cellftp.self" on boot and creates
3 dumps on the root of ur USB memory stick = lv1dump.bin - lv2dump.bin - nordump.bin ( the backup of ur PS3's FLASH )

e.g2:
an updated self file gets released, put the self/sprx file on the root of the USB memorystick + copy_script.txt (no flags folder required to copy/overwrite files on the dev_flash)
on booting the Core 2.7.2 mounts the dev_flash as dev_rewrite and replaces the updated self/sprx's, after succesfull update removes the self/sprx's from the root of USB stick and boots into XMB

eg3: ( assumes on ehave working Petitboot/OtherOS setup!
flag "boot_otheros" added to the flags folder+copy_script.txt( = empty files btw..)
The Core 2.7.2 sets the "boot_otheros" flag and boots into Petitboot

eg4:
Trigger Factory Service Mode using "power+eject" trick ( no dongle required)
exit the FSM using the 202kb Lv2diag.self, boot the console with the "lv2diag.self" on the root of USB memory stick, the PS3 auto shutdown after couple sec..
reboot into normal XMB
No flags required in this example...

Finally,

All flags (nordump,bdemu,installbdemu) are "empty" files without extension e.g dropped into the "flags" folder on USB root
anyflag.txt = X
anyflag (save as with no extension) = OK ( trouble? Control panel - Folder options - Hide extensions for know file-types)
never use all flags at once!!

The Core 2.7.2 introduces execute/loading from /dev_flash" on the internal HDD
the procedure to update any new release e.g 2.7.3 is easy, just drop the new core "cellftp.self" into a folder "updatecore"
and drop on the root of the USB stick, boot the console and voila..updated Core

The BDEMU reader only works with a broken drive..though COMPLETE and e.g NO broken "lens"
This update is slightly better and almost the same compatibility as APP_HOME games but better this then having to use a disk..

This update is only when u have not previously installed one onto the HDD or using any older Core..

no, it's 2.7.2, the release note talks about updating lateron e.g 2.7.3 via "updatecore" folder to /dev_flash/cellftp.self
