I have a reworking station and a preheater. You have to figure out a way to rig up an adjustable holder for the hot air wand. It is sorda a pain in the ass to find something that works well, because a hot air gun holder will run you another $50. By the time you buy the rework station, preheater, hot or gun holder, dual thermometer and thermocouples and pay shipping on all that.....you most likely could have just spent a little more and got a real reworking/reballing station that's an all in one machine and is much more efficient for doing the job at hand. Just my two cents and I'm speaking from experience. I wish I would have just held off until I had a few more hundred dollars, and bought a real machine. Don't get me wrong, the setup that is posted above by 3absiso will work just fine for what you need, but if you are planning on doing a lot of these for a long time, save your money.

Yeah, I'm a beginner too! . Like I said, everything you posted works great for reflowing/reballing consoles, and I know plenty of people who have that same exact setup and have done 100's of consoles with it. I have a xtronic rework station which is the American version of the aoyue, but the aoyue is actually better in my opinion for several reasons. The most important one being that it has a button to go up and down in temp(more accurate than turn dial like mine) and its starting heat temp is perfect (90°c, whereas my lowest heat setting is 150°c). But I have still reflown consoles successfully. Haven't tried a reball yet, but I'm planning on it soon enough.
