i think if it costs a dime over $250 it will be a failure.
i think tablets are cool btw.

though my vita sees more action, i play the tablet when i'm charging my vita, iruna online really.

i would really just want the control pad basin though.
that first concept is way too big as well. glad they're smalling it up some.

Interesting device but...

I have an ASUS TF300T 10.1" (have Nvidia TEGRA 3 Quad core as well) and I just use my PS3 SixAxis via Bluetooth , no need to even hold the tablet to play. And I take both practically everywhere without any portability issues.

Other companies can make similar "controller" docks (if they haven't done it already) for their tablets and they could easily bring down this device market.

They will be ok if they release it, but it's not gonna be the next big thing, it's just gonna be "another device".

But, that's just my personal point of view

SeeYa!

Don't know like i stated and also the author of the article stated is *weird* :

Product was set to release on october of 2012 but discontinued when signs *of a defect were found*.
For me seems like somebody **** their pants and bailed out.
Maybe afraid to lose money?, yeah nobody can deny that there are 10 times better products than this wikipad on the market today but...let's see what happens.
Bad thing though they are creating so much expectative about it.

Yea but only a moron thinks it costs that much for a good pc.
Hell, you can play almost all games maxed out @ 1080p/60fps with a card costing £100

Think the guy on youtube (and you) missed the part where you can connect it to your TV too.
I do all my gaming on PC, but now & again I'd like to be able to sit on the sofa & play some of the games. With this, I'll be able to. plus is has all he other functions of an android based handheld.

Is anyone else sick of seeing Android devices with attached joysticks that claim they will have some stake in the gaming industry?

Sure, I'd love a new one with lots of original IP or big developers, but let's be realistic. These are simply tablets with control pads. These are for "casual" gamers and we all know what "casual" means - casual games are for morons who can't handle a real game and are entertained by the same game with new graphics. How many stupid skiing or racing simulators with no idea what gravity means can they make?

Steambox is a small PC you can't upgrade. I don't like PC's you can't upgrade. The only plus side I see to their device is some people will realize that console based FPS suck.

Nividia's (whatever it's named) is an even smaller PC that is based on "streaming games" meaning you eat up tons of bandwidth using it; plus for the streaming only games you must be on the net. I have no desire to be stuck with having to sign on the net every time I want to play game. Piss off & No thanks.

I'm not even interested in the PS4 or the next XBOX due to licensing restrictions based on second hand games and all the DRM planned for both consoles. The basis for the second hand DRM is based on authenticating and locking the game of choice to your console which requires an Internet connection (this info is not per say 100% accurate). Frak that if I have to bring my entire PS4 to a friends to play a game I bought.

The Ouya is the only fully-rooted box out of them all, but will suffer from lack of IP, the hoard of Apps already plaguing the market (casual crap). Having it rooted means we could see some nice stuff - sorta like an upgraded Raspberry Pi (which is an awesome media center for $80).

To sum it up;

If it's some Android/iOS pad with buttons & a joystick - frak off
If it's some non-upgradable PC - frak off.
If it requires the Internet to function - frak off.
If "playing games" is simply a feature and not it's intended purpose then - frak off.
