you cannot work with a bin, as it is sce encrypted. there are so many tools out there, so why not using any of them?

i personally use the good old magic pkg with drag and drop and that eboot mod function from deank. if you have modified eboot elf than you place on one tab the original eboot.bin and on the 2nd tab your modified eboot.elf and press mod. magicpkg will do the rest for you, and it does it very well. i have fixed some original 3.6+ eboots myself this way without needing any fix.
though magicpkg needs some modifications to make it work with latest keys, so maybe using another tool would be better for others

edit
how could i forget about aldostool's apps?
these are the most userfriendly tools i have found so far, and even a noob can use

@haxxxen @aldostools

Thanks for the help...I learned something and try to pick things on my own unless I hit a wall or if I'm unsure of something. The two years that I've been with the scene I've learned more about the ps3 than I thought I would.

It's good to know that I can actually help someone with the knowledge given. The more you know. aldostools, keep up the good work, it's very much appreciated.

Could you give me a link to a good program for decrypting eboot.bin files? Oh and as for the magicpkg, I have a program called PS3FOEdit which just as good as this one if not better, it is designed to edit the PARAM.SFO file but not the eboot. Also, despite this error, I tried to continue with the tutorial and when I get to the part where I choose firmwares, I select 2 and it says EXTENDED COPY ULITITY HAS STOPPED WORKING. There's also another thing when I get to the MCodes what do I do? what do OGD and COP stand for? I already tried placing half the code in the OGD line and the other half in the COP line

the best one is scetool, and most gui apps make usage of it. there is even a gui for scetool what i am using for decryption of selfs, though it has some flaws with reencryption as it is a cmdline tool. for reencryption i am using magicpkg with ebootmod function, which has not disappointed me so far. it is abit uncomfortable, but i am used to it this way

i have posted it already
http://www.ps3hax.net/showpost.php?p...postcount=1054

mcode = mastercode. some verification code for specific devices. on ps3 it is used by codefreak only and not codeunique/usercheat (you can see it as a drm verification code)

I already know how to convert them I just want to know for example this: Where do I insert these codes (00AC6330 4081001C and 0086C640 33420000) into the MCodes file?

are you that stupid or what. those are things i cannot stand.

CODEFREAK ONLY. so no use for u

edit
if you mean memory code, you cannot use it as an eboot hack to be applied). but your example is the mastercode ONLY used by codefreak, the japanese alternative (original!) to usercheat

In you next updated will it be possible to also allow the resizing of the vertical center frame. Some cheat titles/info are kinda long and there are cut off.
Both issues were addressed in build 2.5.2:
- The tool tip now tries to stay inside the form
- Now the vertical frame is resizable ( I don't like to make form splitters)
- Apply patches to EBOOT.ELF now checks that the offset don't exceed the file size.
- Codes 00001000 and 00002000 are now allowed by default.
- For the codes 00001000 and 00002000, if a the offset address is >= 0x02600000, the cheat is tagged with a red icon (not compatible with EBOOT hack).
