just one more last thing-
when replacing the flash memory and adjusting the old bad blocks, with the skip method - the new blocks should be written the new flash while taking care of the bad blocks locations in the new flash chip. e.g. suppose we have a bad block in the old chip at block 10, we need to shift all the blocks back - 11 and so forth than we need to look at the new chip - if there are no bad blocks - fine. if there are bad block - we have to re-map for example - if the new flash chip have a bad block at block 20, we have to re-shift blocks 21 and so forth. if it's needed - i can add such functionality to NANDWay - unmap bad blocks and re-map to a new flash chip while flashing. |

automatic remapping
I added automatic tool to NANDWay to find and to remap a NAND's bad blocks:
- Locate and print bad blocks in an input NAND dump file: NANDWay.py badblocks Filename - Remap the bad blocks of an input file to a new NAND given the new nand's dump (that is used to locate the bad blocks on the new NAND) NANDWay.py remapbadblocks InputFile NewNand OutputFile whomever wants to use this utility can get it from github.com Effleurage/NORway-and-NANDway Thanks goes to @Sarah1331 for the info and @bfka for supplying with the NAND example:
