temperature question

Just curious what the normal temperature is for the ps3? My sits at 66-70C when playing games/Iris manager opened.

Is this normal or too high?

I did replaced the thermal grease. Is it safe to have the upper case open?

Is your console slim or fat one? Because mine slim CECH-25XX tends to go up to 72/73C after playing some hardware-intense game like NFS:MW. And I don't complain about that temperatures. The console has never been opened.

so ur ps3 had even higher temps before?
i wouldnt let the case open, because of dust or other sh!t gets in it,
but like i said before, you could cut a hole in it and add a pc fan grid to it,
i also added 2 bright red leds on top of the fan, looks cool now ^^

No idea how high it was before. I used Arctic Cooling MX-2 as thermal grease, still i feel its too hot. (I even have the case a bit open)

Is there any chance of hurting the ps3 with these kinds of temps? (66-70C)
