Nope: it looks like a HEX hardware/software address or something

FFFF probably means the BT module cannot be found or is broken.

There wont be a "folder" for it on your HDD though (surely it would be stored in the NAND/NOR), and if there was it wouldnt be fixable through software, you would need to change out the hardware (BT/WIFI).

well.... that sux but if its on the nor couldnt you see it when you check the bkpps3.bin with hex editor ? somewhere there should be a line for bt/wifi.
cuz it says on ps3devwiki that when NA stands in front of bt or wifi, its cuz it cant fint the module.... thats why i asked if you can check it in hdd or on the nor backup

what is the model of the ps3
and the history of the ps3?

ever been opened?
fixed the bdvd drive?
downgraded?
had ylod / rlod fix?

if its a phat i as suspecting the wifi / bluetooth board to be un-pluged or the ffc cable may be damaged
if its a slim then possibly the wifi & bluetooth antenas have not been connected but i wouldnt expect a software fail as stated in your post.

if downgraded then it probably hasnt been de-hashed
once you de-hash then the folders will be filled again i suspect.

oh that secret menu
ffs lol

is your bt and wifi not working?

if it is then dont worry about it as this has not been looked into propperly
so you could get the readings you have for many different reasons.

if the bt and wifi work then dont worry about it lol

ps3 model : slim 120gb cech 2004A
that menu is a good lazy way to see if bt/wifi works :P

Dont know any history about it, the one i got if from just said he tried to update his ofw to 4.21 and then the update loop happened and he got the error code : 8002f1f0.

looks like someone tried to open it but didnt find the hidden screw under the warranty VOID label :P i have opend it and installed e3 flasher and downgraded to 3.55rogero. problem is i cant de-hash it as i just get the update loop and error again. as i said earlier.. ive done this with about 8-12 ps3's before and never had this problem. It looks like the org cooling paste was still on(before i applied new artic silver) so no ylod or anything like that.

only reason i asked about the software is that its stored on another NOR that belongs to the bt/wifi board. found a link to check the firmware now ^^

EDIT: this is what i get next to the hexkeys for wifi software.

does the controller work via bluetooth?
and try sticking multiman on and do the fix blueray drive option in mm
also try the re-marry files in fsm.
as the downgrade uses bt bd patched out then you wont fix this untill the drive is working.

also although my sons ps3 works fully i can only update his ps3 by putting my blueray drive board in it.
i have no idea why
mm says nothing to fix
and the re marry files just give me NG when i try it in his.
so if you have a second ps3 you could try this

@baileyscream No the controller doesnt work on bt.. just with usb cable. thats how i first noticed it.
tried Restore/rebuild filesystem in fsm but it only took 30 sec and didnt fix the problem.
was on rogero 4.30 2.05 now and tried the downgrader pup to get back to 3.55 but looks like it dont have the nocheck so now im stuck on the f***ing update loop again :/ have to reflash to continue looking for the problem.

EDIT: now im back on rogero 4.30 2.05. but what i dont understand is, how can "fix bd problem with mm" solve my problem with the bt/wifi board ?

cos normal firmware has bt and bdvd drive firmware in it.
when you try to update it is looping due to not being able to install these updates
this is why rogero's will work.

if you can re-flash but go down to 3.55 in fsm (check your minversion first)
then do the re-marry fsm files. if it works then do the drive fix in mm
mm just fixes blueray film playback but it has solved update loops for me in the past (2 consoles fixed like this "slims")

then try de-hasing with QA flag set
if that finnishes then re-install the 3.55 ofw in the xmb (so you have now installed 3.55ofw twice)
your bt should now work
