It's very different from the looks of it, main difference is one of the ribbon cable slots (think it was for the small blue one, can't remember) are out of reach of the BMD-001 logic board's ribbon cable slot - the cable is too short to reach both ends.

And this is from the ps3dev wiki:
CECHA, CECHB, CECHC, CECHE (, some CECHG)

Initial FAT models: With BD400 drive, BMD-001 daughterboard capable for driving KEM-400AAA slide and KES-400A laser.
So not sure if 410ACA would be recognized by the logic board?

i thought you where trying to replace the complete drive + board, in that case only the ribbon to motherboard should match and it's power cable?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean.
I am replacing the complete drive + board (possibly.. only if the current board still doesn't work because it could just be a laser issue and I wont have to go through the remarry process if that's the case).
I got the BMD-001 from one seller and the ACA410 (which was supposed to be the AAA400) from another seller.
It was physically impossible for me to attach the logic board to the ACA410 drive due to the difference in socket positions.

Yesterday I got the new ribbon cable (board to mobo), and now there's more activity from the laser (it attempts to scan the disk) but still no spinning/flashing so I guess now the only problem is the laser (unless this is common with unmarried boards but I don't think that's the case).
I tested this with both the new and old logic board, both had the same outcome.

Will hopefully conclude this problem today if the new drive comes.
I'll first check whether the laser flashes and disc spins - if this fails with both logic boards, then I'm all out of ideas (again, unless this problem may be caused by unmarried board).
Then I'll check whether a demo runs - if not then I'll assume it needs to be remarried, if this is the scenario for the old logic board then I'll just stick to using the new one.

even if it's unmarried ths disc should spin, if the laser is fine.
check installed demo's or whatever with an empty drive. (blue led should be off)

that is if the laser is not working or if you are in doubt.

I tried a demo and it still black-screened with either logic board.

Anyway, problem is now solved! :D
It was mainly the old drive (faulty laser/spinning), new drive did indeed flash and spin with either logic board.

I'm not sure whether the old logic board was broken, might just need to be remarried, I instead remarried the new one using the guide from the devwiki and it's working as good as new!

Now I'll be back to following the Rogero installation guide. >-<!
Thanks for all the help!

Edit: Could complete the Rogero install fine! But when I try to play a game backup, I get audio but no video. >-<
Running a normal game from disc works fine though.
Edit: Nevermind, was just because I didn't include the movie files, all is working great now~!
