All that valve makes is crappy fpses with no story, and who cares what some fat lard thinks anyway? his games suck and so does valve

Steam was the worst piece of software i ever used, slow as hell, ads everywhere and requires a freaking internet connection to play offline games that i bought from retail. So excuse me if i don't agree with your vision about steam but in my opinion its a steaming pile s***.

As for you offline mode suggestion it still doesn't justify having to use steam at all, i purchased the game without any contact with steam so why the hell do i need to use that broken piece of s***, the damn thing is like a freaking parasite its everywhere and its sucking the life out of whatever it attached to, its ruining the gaming industry.

Actually I lived it, didn't read about it. Bought my copy of Half-Life in November 1998 and I've been actively playing computer games since 1988, son.

Keep in mind Call of Duty and Battlefield didn't come out until years (at least two) AFTER mods for Half-Life like Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat paved the way and (again) showed the industry that material was marketable.

You're right. There is an easy solution to this: don't use steam. However you may be a little confused on how game distribution works. You see a game developer makes the game, then gets to choose how to distribute it. Most companies make their games available on Steam because its convenient to the end user, and if you're upset about that being the only avenue of purchase the blame the game developers, not the distributing platform.

I'm done with this subject now. I'm not in the habit of feeding trolls, else they grow into bigger trolls.

and yes valve did save pc gameing it was almost dead when half life came out
