Whatever. Perhaps the ODEs will finally separate people who want homebrew from the annoying 1 post noobs who nag and just want to play downloaded games online (trying to look on the bright side here).

Bottom line is as things are right now, you still need to be on 3.55 to extract the drive key and anyone who does that and updates and loses CFW just to pirate games online, didnt deserve cfw and its amazing potential in the first place.

Not ripping on you with this but I thought I heard something some time ago about you could play homebrew from disc. Also unless I understood wrong. What I read about the cobra ODE it works with 3k/4k from release so no cfw is needed. Hate to say it but 90% of the cfw users updated to the new cfw so they could play their downloaded I mean backed up games online.

Now this is the one thing no one is thinking about and will cause so many bans it wont be funny. Xbox360 has a program called abgx360 that checks your downloaded games to make sure they are good. Ps3 dont have that. So all it will take is one person to upload a game with anydvd on thier pc and it will be ban wave heaven. The xbox game are not ripped just once and done they are rip many times and compared then the data is uploaded to the abgx360 data base to insure a good rip. I bet the Ps3 games will be ripped once and uploaded bad data and all just so some one can say they uploaded it first and with no way to check it ban wave.

Dont get me wrong im not a lover or a hater of this im in the middle. I just wish people would do a little homework before they come with how this device works or what it does.

You can say whatever you want, but I'm just happy that somebody is finally releasing something for the 3k/4k consoles (supposedly). Let's hope they keep up to their word.

The xbox 360 dvd drive hack is so simple yet very mainstream. Having to deal with the ps3 and it's very thin and sensitive ribbon cables isn't for everyone.

Tearing down the 360 is as safe as opening a pc case, not much to worry about that's in the way of doing your task.

The ps3 drive also uses a ribbon cable as a connection and not a sata connector. It's going to be a pain dealing with all of that...It's not all that easy or simple like the x360...not even close.

I know they said it will work with 3k and 4k models but since its release there has been no word whatsoever on this promise. I can assure you this, if they came up with a way it would have been a big announcement from them. That is an easy way of knowing that they haven't got a method yet. As for 90% of cfw users updating to new 4.31 cfw to play games online (and got banned), I know. Thats why I said this device will be cool to separate the people who want homebrew from the people who purely want to play pirated games online.

You must remember that cobra has been testing their ODE for quite some time now, no doubt going online aswell. I'm sure if something such as abgx360 was needed they would have mentioned. Remember that xbox 360 DVDs have different security than the ps3 blu ray discs so maybe ps3 games don't have to be patched at all. We don't know yet. But ya, if by some chance they do, there will be a BIG wave of bans.

Alot of people don't have the device AND aren't interested in buying one so we don't know yet what to expect. So wishing people would do a little homework as you put it, on a device that was just released two days ago, is a bit...you get my point.

You could compare it to xkey, but I really wouldn't as the 360 and ps3 are two 100% different consoles that belong to two totally different companies. It all depends on what kind of validation check that Sony and Microsoft have on their servers for their respective consoles. Lets wait and see what happens
