I don't know. I heard something about DEX PS3 can run games without having Bluray in. This is used for PS3 with BluRay drive dead.

I have got this to work following the guide, however - now after formatting my external HDD with the 'Format Blu-ray Emulator HDD' debug option, I am no longer able to use the drive to store & play games on.

I thought I could get around this by just using a small USB stick as the emulator but apparently it needs to be in the right USB slot for it to work, which as it happens is the same for the external hard drive.

How do I get around this so I can use the ext. HDD to play/store games?

Thanks again for the guide, it was simple to follow. God of War 3 still won't work discless though, bummer.

Not really, there are far better hack n' slash games on PS3 IMO. It could just be a small problem like RE6 though and fixable by changing a certain feature in Debug settings.

Wow man, going through that menu didn't even occur to me

. Putting the console in release mode did it, GoW3 works discless now. Thank you.
