Why not just do what I told you instead of following a tutorial?

1. Download Rogero 4.30 CFW v2.05 (Here is a few link, pick the one you want)

- http://uploaded.net/file/3qtezmug
2. Plug your USB on your computer
3. Create a folder PS3.
4. Create a folder UPDATE in PS3 folder
5. Put RogeroCFW.PUP in UPDATE folder
6. Rename RogeroCFW.PUP to PS3UPDAT.PUP
7. Plug the USB key to PS3
8. Go in Settings Tab
9. Pick the first option in settings tab to update
10. Update from USB
11. Agree license
12. Make sure you have fun!

patch against brick????! what is this???? there isn't such think!!!!!! all cfws have patched lv1!!! that is no patch against brick!!!!! dont make experiments the others!!!! all tutorials said about downgrade first!!!! if he bricks his console will yoy pay him???? gosh

A QA flag is a value set in SC EEPROM at
address 0x48C0A. When this flag is set,
the token is read from SYSCON and
decrypted, this gets passed to various
modules to unlock certain functionality....if the qa was not enabled when went to 4.21 90% he'll brick if he go straight to 4.30. all tutorials and guides for safe upgrade to 4.30. tells from 3.55. the guy that had the ps before told him for "clean uptade" something like that.he knows better what have he done to his console before (if bad english sorry)

What if I toggle qa while updating from 4.21 rebug to 4.30 rogero directly?

I asked the guy, he said he believes he did toggle qa when updating.

you can do this only on 3.55... on later fw we cant enable this for now at least.you have rebug 4.21 now.here what rebug team say......UNINSTALL:
From XMB REBUG 4.21.x AND HIGHER
can be uninstalled with the same or
higher firmware version OFW/CFW/MFW
or with REBUG 3.55.x REX EDITION on a
QA enabled PS3 or with the ’999′
DOWNGRADER if QA was NOT enabled.

If you go into Multiman, scroll far left, go to top, You can update Multiman to his latest 4.19.04 I think it is...Scroll far right, you can Download different themes for your Multiman...My favourite is Simple But Beautiful...You can go to Multiman Forums & ask questions there or read & learn what Multiman can do now you have a hacked PS3... Good Luck & have fun

This is exactly what I wanted to know, and you posted this before my question even came! Thanks!

The only thing I wanted to ask is I have never used a ps3 before. I don't want to go online at all and get banned or w/e. So what can I do to protect myself so that I can access the internet to update, but avoid going online into the playstation server or w/e?

You just said it! CFWs have PATCHED LV1! That's required in order to avoid bricking if the QA Flags wasn't enabled. And you're all wrong. That's not all CFW that has this patch. Give a try to 3.55 Kmeaw/Wanninkoko and see you're gonna get bricked if you havn't set QA Flags.
