I got a ps3 of eBay and the drive apparently did not work. Replace the laser with a brand new laser and still the drive did not work. Even when I touch the sensors inside the drive to move the motor nothing happens. I looked at thee board and noticed that 1 of the chips has a slight crack. Could this be the reason why my drive is working

Take a high res pic for @Mr.Dutch , but chances are that is your problem

here is as close as i could get. remember that this is on the drive board( the bottem left corner is the damaged side). is there anyway for me to ever get this ps3 to read games again?

did you remarried the drive?, is that part working?

Sorry for the late reply. I havent remarried the board and i do.beloeve that this is yhe original board. Is it still possible for me to downgrade from 4.20 and remarry from there?
