Right on man, thats cool of you, tbh I'm probably more likely to jack up my system following a tutorial than you are experimenting with a mostly untested, brand new method on it, lol.

For reals though, thanks for the eventual tutorial and all the work you're doing for everyone.

the clip simply is not on correctly.
check it isnt hitting any components around the chip and that any adjustment of the clip (file / scraped the clip to fit) has not effected any of the little legs inside the clip

if your ps3 is booting to the "connect controller screen" before you enter fsm then it may be that the usb stick needs a full format then put the fsm files back on and see if that helps.

Hey

Ive been following Baileys guide right up to the point where I am trying to enter FSM mode (dump valid, e3_downgrade run etc) but no matter how fast I press power and eject after each other I get the "Connect the controller..." screen.

Now.. When I placed my order for e3 flasher and usb dongle I had originally order the PSBreak however just before the supplier shipped they contacted me to tell me they have had to supply the PS3Kit instead.

Firstly I realise that the PS3kit is not listed in Baileys guide but I have a few questions.

1) I am not sure if this is the dongle or perhaps things havent quite worked how they should have. Is there any point pressing the PS Button as the screen suggest and taking a look on the XMB to see what the firmware is reporting or would this brick the PS3

2) If it is the PS3kit at fault, could I reconnect the E3 and try flashing from the point of chapter 2 method 1 in playerkp420s guide ?

Any help I can get will be mucho appreciated :-) Cheers guys
