I've been searching the whole internet but couldn't find the exact answer or anything close enough to help me out.
I'm in possesion of a e3 flasher and used it last week.
Everything went fine (after a long time) but i have done everything like the foolproof guide on this site.
Everything went fine untill the finishing downgrade in factory mode.
I have tried to get in fsm using my psp 2000 and i knew there was a possibility this doesn't work.
I installed the right firmware on it 5.50 gen-d and gen-dIII .
This didn't work so i bought a p3free.
The only hex files i could find where for fw 3.41 but i found somewhere on the internet that is doesn't matter to get in fsm as long as i had the right file to get out of fsm.
But with the p3free i have tried a lot of hex files but there is no way that my ps3 goes into factory mode so there is no way i can downgrade.
My ps3 stays at the screen to connect the controller with a usb cable.
When i connect the controller then my ps3 says my firmware is broken or something.
Is there someone who knows what my best option is.
I came from software version 4.31.

Follow Method 1 in Chapter 2 of the guide below. You don't need a FSM dongle.

Just had my first nightshift this night and going to bed now.
I've been able to read your guide and i think i will manege to do this.
The only thing i'm not looking forward to is to take apart the ps3 again but i see no other option now sow i think i will start this afternoon when i'm awake or maybe tomorrow in the afternoon.

Funny thing. No one ever tried the 4.25 to 3.55 downgrader pup. It works, since the syscon thinks it is 4.40.

Also Miralatijera 4.31 cfw works. It is 4.31 cfw so will install.

I will downgrade with one of these downgraders.
Last night i took my ps3 apart and i think when i wake up a little bit i will start making some dumps with my flasher and will let you all know when i succeed.

I just made my first valid dump according to nor inspector.
I know i have to check it for myself too before i proceed but there is one question i have.
According to nor inspector my first valid dump before i downgraded with e3 flasher was on ofw 4.31 and that i understand but my second dump from after using the e3 flasher told me it's already on 3.55.
I thought that this stays at 4.31 until i progressed with the update after using the fsm dongle.
Now my question is, do i have to handle my ps3 as a 4.31 or a 3.55 machine?
And does this matter or can i just proceed.
