hello, i have installed multiman and saw that the cpu was 82 Celsius after i let it stand on some time. its a 40 gb phat ps3.
i have cleaned it from dust and replace the thermal paste.

what can i do more to make it cooler?

Dunno what Can You Do More I Did The Same Thing If It Gets 80C Just Start Again The Fan Will go To The Next Level And It Will Cool To 69C After Some Time The Fan Will Lower The Level So the Heat Will Go Up I Really Dunno What You Can Or I Can Do For Mine to Fix That ****-The Only thing would Be Fan Mod But I Am Not Doing That Thing-I have 40GB One Too With 640GB HardDrive

Where you have it? what's your room temp?.

Yes its becouse you need to replace termal paste inside heatsink, but when you try to remove heatsinks you damage cpu and you get ylod. Your fan should run on max after 10 minutes and after about 30 min up to 1 hour he will cold it up to 72-75

hellsing9: it's on a glass plate free to breathe air, the temp on room is about 21 C

just buyed 4 40 mm fans on ebay that shuld be placed under the front to blow in air, maby this going to help?

to cool down my fat..same temps used a PS3Z Easy Cool MOD, worth all ur money and works wonders, after that if u have more u can't resist putting them in any ps3 realy nice temps with it, only the fansound..but u get used to it and what's more important, there's also a mod to make the fan quiet again using some rubbers..never tryed as the slims no real loud sound anyway..the fat a little more but always steady 58 degrees...fine by me
