Since I can't seem to see any indication of MSRP, I'm assuming it's going to be on the expensive side at launch? They must have struck a sweet deal with whoever is making the RAM (Toshiba, maybe? Are they still buddies with sony/part of STI?) because 8GB of GDDR5 costs a bit of money... I'll wait a bit after this comes out to get one, probably 2nd hand. Unless it launches at like $299, then hell yes, I'll buy one. Props to the first person to get Windows running on one (unless they include an "Other OS" option. discuss.)

If you look carefully to what he said...well. It's the same as i tell you *Sure You can play offline but my best advice keep it connected to internet just in case*.
Also with Gaikai and all the cloud *issue* if you don't have an internet connection you are pretty much FUBAR.
Sounds weird for me this one they buy for millions (i don't recall well those numbers) Gaikai only to backup your saves? or streaming?.
I really really doubt it.

Also he made a reply about someone possible offended for being called *anti-social* that's the main reason of his silly response.

Beginning to think $ony clutching at straws and gonna rush this console as they did the ps3, slipping right down the ladder IMHO. When the 360 was released Sony were way behind and now they are rushing this console to remain in the competition. How about they concentrate on realising the full potential of the ps3 instead of abandoning it because of certain key releases.

Acording to the AMD slide for the SOC, it says a 512bit bus with GDDR5(option to shop around for any ram maker), so no doubt Sony could get a good deal on millions of sticks of GDDR5 ram from someone.

I think what Sony needs to do this generation is focus on making this a GAME MACHINE, not a streaming movie player/music/TV subscription-based media streaming device/game device. *Don't* go the Xbox route and turn the machine into an ad box. (seriously, I loved xbox until this happened, haven't owned one since) Honor previous purchases on PSN/SEN/Whatever by allowing a free download (or at the very least a massively discounted price) of anything you've bought before if it gets ported over to the new platform, including being able to stick an original disc in and automatically be entitled to a digital/"cloud" copy. And this generation, games should stay under 50 bucks.

Sony upper management probably see things different, though.
