According to some reports, the PlayStation 4 won't be compatible with CDs and SACDs. Deal breaker for you?


In an interview with japanese game journalist Reiji Asakura, SCE boss Andrew House confirmed that the upcoming PlayStation 4 won't support CD and SACD (Super Audio CD) at all.

So no CD music ripping.

It doesn't surprise me about SACD, they removed it from later PS3 models.

I haven't bought a CD... In Years? Digital music is my thing so IDGAF If the PS4 will or won't accept a CD format.

...and thats perfectly fine in my books too.

Call me old(fashioned?) or just a sucker for physical media, I still love having something to hold on to and look at instead of digital data.

Why?:

1) More practical.
2) No problems about copyright ****.

One thing is being dumb and other thing is *Acting dumb*.
Sony have both of those.
I don't get it why so much fuzz about this when on their presentation of the PS4. (If you can call that way).
Yoshida forgot an *official term* of their own product.

"You can play offline, but you may want to keep it connected," Yoshida told Eurogamer. "The system has the low-power mode - I don't know the official term - that the main system is shut down but the subsystem is awake. Downloading or updating or you can wake it up using either the tablet, smartphone or PS Vita."

It's sony. You know what to expect.
This move also it's because they don't want anything optical related on their own systems.
CD is old tech for them or so it seems.

You want Blu Rays you use your Blu Ray player.
You want internet you use your PC's web browser.
You want other os you use your PC.

I don't compare you with other users here.

It's the way i think about this. Optical era is ending (and you know that).

I use my PS3 to watch blu-ray movies, play and listen to music.

But apply this line of tought for ONE second:
Someone with some smartphone can:

1) Make phonecalls.
2) Make videos.
3) Listen to music.
4) Watch movies, etc.

So is All in one product.
Question is?, you can compare a ****ty video camera from your cellphone to a Nikon or Lumix semireflex?.

Answer = No.
A semireflex camera is 10 times better than a cellphone one.
Some high fidelity music system is 10 times better than a smartphone.

Depends on how you look the situation as whole.
But if you want to keep comparing me with annelies, be my guest.
If Sony won't allow CDs or SACDs on their consoles = Perfect.

Again we are on a digital era.
Or you want some vinyl records compatibilty on PS4?. i will love it that tought...but it's impossible.
