My crazy idea.
Hello guys, today I decided to tell you about a project a little crazy that goes through my head for some time, I would like to clone a ps3, the idea is to get CPU, syscon ic and NOR from a broken motherboard, for mounted its on a working motherboard.
What prevented me from proceeding is the fact that I do not have the right equipment to properly desolder the CPU and then weld it to the other motherboard, I contacted a lot of people who claimed to be experts in reballing but none of them was willing to transfer the CPU (too risk) So why claim to be experts in reballing and have the equipment to x-ray? : Motz: I know that for many of you sacrifice a working motherboard may seem like a crazy idea but I have to do to recover a full debug ps3 ... and then because I'm probably really mad xD. I thought I'd tell you about it because I know that there are many experienced people on ps3 hardware and I'd like to hear your opinions and advice, I'd like to know if someone in the past has ever done this successfully, I hope that this becomes a constructive discussion for all |

Hardware is out of my comfort zone...I'll stick to software ....but if it can be done I wish you luck.

I thank you for the answer  , I know it is a difficult and expensive process, but I would like to know if it is possible, could be very useful in some cases like mine

It has been done before, It works, But You need to transfer a lot of the hardware.

What is wrong with the debug unit? A reball will not fix it?

The ps3 debug is completely dead xD, had a trivial problem that I had not noticed, I'm usually very calm when I do these operations, but a black day when I was very nervous, I lost my patience and I broke but the CPU is intact. I have some experience with the ps3 hardware and usually I manage always, but that cursed day I was not careful enough Last edited by DebugBrain; 02-23-2013 at 02:46 PM. |

That sucks. Sorry to hear it. Hope you find someone to fix it.
You can ask @sleyeguy . He has the equipment to do that. Not sure if he will. Sounds like a hard job. Good luck.

Thanks for the good wishes
however I'm not looking for someone to do all the work, I just try someone who can change the cpu successfully checking through x-ray, all that remains to be done I can do it
