Why would you want to use the PS4 for anything else but playstation games? The more you use it the quicker it breaks. Use a CD player for listening to your music, it's relativity cheap to replace. You'd be kicking yourself in the ass if your PS4 wore out because you decided to play too much snoop dog.

CD's stll account for a large portion of all music sold, it was only until some time last year that digital sales overtook CD sales in the UK.

Seems like an odd decision to me, but it's probably cost related so if it means a cheaper R.R.P. I don't have much of an issue with it.

Make no mistake though, this is a step back, not a step forward.

Showing a controller and some demos, i think that's a huge step back.
This? removing certain functions/etc from their product each month, that's not new. In that area no one can beat them.

Simple analogy:

Sony makes a cool product, removes otherOS then keep removing things that were useful to us.
They have some destructive pattern towards their products or they just don't give a damn about their own costumers.
Almost to the point to render that product obsolete.

Giving a second tought to what i said, i will go for both.

1) Destructive pattern with their own products.
2) They don't give a ****.

Mix both and next time maybe they will remove the screen on the controller because they wanted to or some random cool feature with no specific or logical reason why is getting removed.

=======================================

@alternativejohnsmith Still have my vinil records and listen to them when im have some spare time. Hipsters? meh i could care less. That's some idiotic *fashion* statement.

Vinyl has been making a (slow) comeback these last few years. As well, the sound quality can be better than your new digital media. I'm not saying IS or WILL be better, but it can be.

They are a bit clunky though compared to digital formats. Who really wants a collection of records lying around when you can have a hard drive full of thousands of those same vinyls.
