ok tested the power from the psu and got 5.47v,0v,0v,4.6v with the ps3 in standby

@Sarah1331 , the 8 pins ic right?, the one that monitors the drawn current and can switch the power for the ports on and off.

Ok yes and no lol the ic was fried yes replaced and same again reFused to boot so tested caps and resistors that you have in the pic and there was a short on the right USB so removed everything inc USB ports and there was still a short by this time all I had was the ic on it removed ic and it was fine I reFused to give up

data lines were ok so it must be before but if you follow the trace it goes in the inner sheets of the pcb so I removed the ic and hard wired 5v to the USB ports as data was still good

Told customer not to overload I tested for an hour running some USB devices all working fine
