1Q. if the firmware is on the hdd then why dump the nor or nands when forcing a downgrade. 1Athis is due to the main part of the firmware being installed on the nor and the rest "non critical" section of the firmware being on the hdd or for nand console's ALL the firmware is on the nands. so erasing the hdd doesnt get rid of anything important. if you want proof of this then go here:- ps3devwiki full of everything you want to know and more. see you in a few months ![]() just to add dont ask @playerkp420 for proof of something not working. but go and produce proof yourself of it working. really how hard is it fo format a hdd then try installing lower firmware. grab a cam and film it for us all please Last edited by baileyscream; 02-23-2013 at 07:43 PM. |

talk of switch positions has been mentioned for many reasons and no it doesnt matter if you use clip or linker the switches are for different functions not if you use clip or linker. now as i'm not about to read all 1500+ replies i will assume you read advice given to someone about transfering back his/her dump back off the E3 nor and back onto the ps3 nor. now this was for one person and that persons issue was delt with for there perticular problem. now why ignore a guide and follow random posts?????????????? you need to verify your dump BEFORE any flashing takes place. i do not mention any of the dump check tools yet as i have been waiting for along time for someone to finish his and now 2 more are in the wiki and another is in development in this site. ALL are still being developed NONE are 100% ready yet. i am in the middle of creating updates to the guides and when the dump checking tool(s) are verifying propperly then this guide will include them as a first check. then second check is to verify it as the guide currently shows with some additions then finaly a third check is to go to the wiki verify page so go read this guide propperly and stop trying to take short cuts!!!! i will know by what you put in a reply as to wether you have really verified your dump yourself or not. and i allready know you have not. i also know with the above post i have quoted that you have not read the very first post #1 of my guide. if everyone stops taking shortcuts like you then brick risks would come down from 90% to 30%

if no then it will get formatted if yes then seeing as your console is 3.56 base then you need to follow @playerkp420 's guide to go direct to 4.30cfw as you have patched to go down to 3.55 on a 3.56 base console then your going to brick. from http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=49155 |

you can downgrade with the following: - make sure your dump is valid - Patch it with 3 Mas PAtch. - Install Latest CFW 4.31 (MiralaTijera CFW) (not Rogero CFW 4.30) Just done one, but the dump was suspicious, had to ask @playerkp420 and @baileyscream EDIT: why did i QUOTE Baily, the QUOTE for the other guy sorry

Yeah it might be worth trying chapter 2 of players guide if your F/S Mode jig isn't working. I had a F/S Mode jig which worked fine except when used on a DYN-001 mainboard.

Hi there,
I've tried to search the forum for my request but couldn't found an straight forward answer. I have a Phat PS3 model CECHH12 and recently tried to replace the HDD and in the mean time tentatively tried to upgrade with a so called JB 4.11 FW (didn't know at that time it doesn't make sense) and mistakenly did an official auto-update on top of it. Basically now, I've put back the original 40Gb HDD, and whenever I start the PS3, it tells me I need to upgrade and when I do so with an official FW on a USB stick I get an error "The data is corrupted. (8002F225)". This is also true when I try to update the FW from the recovery menu. I did try to download the update file from different browser and so on, but I always get the same message. Looks that my PS3 might be bricked... I'm now considering doing a hardware downgrade using E3 Flasher. However, since I cannot boot to XMB, will I still be able to dump the NOR? Should anyone have alternative suggestions/hints to my problem, I'm happy to hear them. Thanks in advance, |
