Hello everyone I had bricked my PS3 not too long ago and got the yellow light of death. I got my supplies for soldering the Tristate to the SBE point on the E3 ribbon and it works nicely. I used a 24 AWG wire to solder with. I had 1 backup file on my micro SD card to put into the TF cover board. When I start up the PS3 the yellow light of death never shows up to stops me at all and it will stay on green power light. I am not sure if I am doing the "Flash Fun" mode wrong or not but this is what i do.

I have the power off on the PS3 then I flip the switch on the TF cover board from PS3 mode to Flash Fun mode. The 8 led lights show up one by one when doing the backup process and successfully completes. I then do the next part of turning off and unplugging the system after the lights blink back and forth. As I switch Flash Fun mode back down to PS3 mode and turn the PS3 back on my Esata Station with my Hard Drive doesn't look like its loading my Hard Drive data. The power is on and it worked perfectly before i did the Soldering process.

When I start up the PS3 the Esata station Data Light which is red is suppost to blink as the PS3 is turning on but it doesn't seem to be doing it anymore. Can anyone Help. I can put a video up if needed.

Forget about hdd activity and all that.
Did you validate your backup dump? Or have someone double check it for you?

If you do have a valid dump follow this guide, and your PS3 will be fixed.

Ok I used the program from wiki and it patched it I will tell you how my progress went.

Ok so I am not so sure what to do next because after putting my bkpps3.bin file in the program and it spitting out a bkpps3_patched.bin file I then re-named it and had it set as bkpps3.bin I put the micro SD card back on the TF cover board, Flash Fun Mode, got 8 led lights all one by one then turned off the PS3. I looked at my .log file and it seems to say ok to all of the coding in it.

There is only one problem on wiki it says to "From this point on, follow the main guide starting from Reinstall firmware in Factory Service Mode" But I don't understand it at all. I have an E3 Card reader but not a PSGrade. I dont know how to activate Factory Service mode.

You can get your E3 card reader ready to use, while you wait for validation. Even though it sounds like you already flashed. LOL.

Download and extract this file.
Drag n drop the e3 downgrade.bin file onto the E3 Upgrader partition of the e3 card reader.

That's it, it is ready to use.

So even though my PS3 screen is still black and the PS3 runs with its green light I am basically doing the downgrade process blind just with a black screen to look at instead of seeing the XMB screen. . . this should be interesting.

Alright so I have my E3 Card Reader(Upgrader) in the right usb side on my PS3. So do i need to do the downgrade process like I did before I got bricked. Then once I turn off my PS3 and turn it back on it will allow me to go into factory service mode. Correct?
