Help with a 60gb launch ps3
Finally I managed to get hold of one of these babies. A CECHC04, on 3.41 ofw, and as you can imagine Im over the moon
![]() However, the HDMI port seems faulty which is why I paid 200 ZAR for it (no thats not a typo this was really the deal of the century). Im going to see what I can do about the hdmi port as I found many people who had the same type of symptoms with the port. But if any of you have anything to add that might help me pin point whats wrong with it Id be very appreciative. Everything works except I get no video signal from the hdmi port. I can always use a component cable for HD so I wont be toooo upest if worst case scenario, the port is dead. What im more worried about is this thing failing on me in the long run due to the countless 60gb issues. So what I really want to know is out of the hundreds of fan mods and guides, does anyone know of a specific one that is more effective than the rest? I want to keep this thing as cool as possible. Thanks for your time guys

Ok so a bit of an update. HDMI working. BD drive not. Not too phased as it still was a good deal.
Going to order a bd drive/lens from a local online retailer but the fan question still stands. I found some guides on fan mods I just want to know if anyone knows of a sure working one as i heard of one or two people here saying they have 60gb models with fan mods and their temps are quite low

I wont bore you with the countless youtube vids but I like killerbugs one.
But on the other hand I prefer passive fan mods that you dont control with a pot. Which do you think is better?

Well passive ones are alot less annoying but as to which ones are more effective im not sure but regardless they seem to do a much better job than the system regulator. I believe there are a couple that are both passive and pot so you can either let it chill or control it yourself
