It looks like a third party DS2/3, or a "PS" style-clone pad for PC....

I would have to get a feel for it before I could truly judge it, but it doesn't look amazing

I am sure some 3rd company will come up with a ps4 controller that has LCD display in future.

Console has Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR capability and the controller has a headphone jack. There some possibility. IMO Console should have v 3.0 or 4.0

LCD could:
Display Song Info
User can control Songs, tracks.
Console sound send game Info via bluetooth to controller. Such has HP, Stats. (DS style)
Many more...

that way is expensive n not really that much usable.
remember the controller thing is to buy again n again....
the current DualShock 4 is great but i agree it should have been a little better in design than this or may be not,
dont know how hard they have worked on this

I agree that is a added cost and not much usable.

But think about it.

PS1 -> CD/Audio CD // Was revolution at that time.
PS2 -> DVD // Was revolution at that time.
PS3 -> Blu-ray // Was revolution that won HDDVD wars..
Now
PS4 -> Still Blu-ray // Not evolutionary enough.

Wii U has that revolutionary controller that ships with the console. Even if Sony claims that vita could be your second touch controller. It is not good enough and not evolutionary. It is additional major cost and does not ship with your console. Out of box experience is very important.

A small touch LCD would be really cool.

3rd companies wouldn't be able to. Notice how there is no 3rd party controllers for the PS3 unlike the Wii and Xbox? Sony has made unofficial controllers unable to communicate with the PS3.
When someone does achieve it, IIRC they block it out in a firmware update...

Hmm...if there are no 3rd party PS3 controllers, how come there are fakes?... surely they are 3rd party rebranded to look official?

They work on PS3, though apparently not made by sony...

IMO, who ever designed the new controller, needs to go back to design room/design school.

CES showed a curved LCD touch screen.



Imagine if the curved touch screen was to replaced curved touch pad.

Since Sony claimed that it is a X86 system. Entire would know it is kinda of a PC. So LCD could show CPU, TEMP, Time, Game Info, Friends MSG, Trophy, Pending Download Info and Notification plus many more.

Remove the share and option button. Those commands could be build into the touch software. So controller should be slightly bigger to accommodate the screen.

Just sharing some ideas and thoughts.
