yes i had the right switches up/down but i realized one thing i forgot to mention on op
bear with me here when i installed the e3 i had 4.20 ofw on it i had made a backup like it said to and like it said per e3 instructions update to latest ofw to ensure a smooth downgrade so i did i updated to 4.21 ofw but i forgot to make a backup of the 4.21 and went to downgrade and now i have the ylod/bricked thingy and no 4.21 backup but i do still have the valid 4.20 but im at a loss as it refuses to stay on. yes lights solid red aka standby then green for 3-5secs then a quick yellow then 3 beeps and red blinking light. |

@DarkenLX
it doesn't matter what fw your dump has. As long as you have a good bios dump from THAT console with the per console data, you can unbrick. You just flash your bios then downgrade. There is a tut on here that tells you how to do it step by step and it worked for me 3 times., but the issue is still, not staying powered up. Only thing I can think is it isn't getting good enough contact on either the sbe or the nor. I know you soldered it, but is the little solder disk on the sbe still look good? Ose things are really cheaply made. I have popped off the little solder point on the clip where it wasn't hitting the traces like it should. Check that.
************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Also, how long is the wire, what type of wire, what gauge of wire are you using? These things matter |

If you have the wire soldered on correctly, and the PS3 will not stay on. It means that the ylod is not caused by the flash.
So make sure you have the wire soldered to the correct points. Make sure to use between 24 and 28 gauge wire. If you have all this done correctly, It may be the heat sinks are not seated proper. I had one give me a ylod, from the E3 clip softboard being crushed.

hey since you said that... I have this ps3 that was rsod. I was trying to get the clip seated properly so i could downgrade it. Anyway, I broke the clip trying, and now the system ylod. I never started the process, just tried dumping bios. Do you think that it is a lagitament ylod, or do you think I messed up the nor trying to put a lot of pressure on it? The system will kick the fan on high if turn it on holding the eject button. My real ylods won't do that.

The flashing lights are an error code. The log file on your sd card will also say the error. Look here. Most likely you don't have the clip on good. Also make sure you have the fan plugged in.

@playerkp420
I have a similar problem. Quick Green>Quick Yellow>Quick Green>Three Beeps>Flashing Red. It happened while trying to downgrade with an e3 flasher. I was convinced it wasn't a normal YLOD caused by "overheating" but had it reflowed anyway on the insistence of a friend and sure enough it's still the same. I've followed your method on here and I'm pretty sure I've got a decent connection between the SBE and tristate. I had been using normal 12 gauge wire but I've just tried with a bit of earphone cable and wire glue and it's still the same ![]() I have a horrible feeling that I had been applying too much pressure on the nor clip (I used probably just under 1cm of card taped over the clip before reassembling). Shouldn't it still stay on if the wire is connected properly though? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Sean |
