Where did you get the Cobra pup from that you installed? From the info you provided, this seems to me to be the source of your issues. As @playerkp420 stated redownload the pup and check the MD5 and also check the MD5 of the pup you installed. I'm thinking you got a demo 4.30 labelled as Cobra 4.30. I downloaded and installed the pup from their site directly and have not had any of the experiences you're having.

: What I meant is if you do what I said to do (Set "System Update Debug" to On) then you'll have the option to copy PUPs to hard disk and install any firmware through XMB in like 3 minutes. You asked for a solution, and it's the best one, besides getting another PS3

Yes. Do the button combo (L1+L2+L3+R1+R2+Down) while on the "Network Settings" icon. If you're QA flagged already, the extra settings will pop up.
And I would recommend Rebug 4.X over Rogero 4.X (Sorry, Rogero, but nothing works for me when I install your 4.X CFW)
