WD idle/sleep disable tool: http://support.wdc.com/product/downl...id=154&lang=en Before using this disable tool, you should check your hdd with this: http://hiyohiyo.s181.coreserver.jp/C...o5_4_0a-en.exe 1. Run CrystalDiskInfo on pc. 2. Connect your HDD. 3. Select "Function" tab. 4. Select "Advanced Feature" > "AAM/APM Control". 5. It will open a new window, select your HDD. 6. Check your Advanced Power Management (APM) settings. If it shows a 80h value or higher you do not have a sleepy drive. If it shows a value inferior to 80h you have a sleepy drive and you should use the disable tool and then re-check your value with CrystalDiskInfo. If you get "Drive Update Not Applicable" when you run the disable tool, that's ok, the APM will still have been fixed. Works on most WD drives. Hope this helps.

That is strange, because I used the USB 3.0 cable with that allocation size, and it was epic fail (not enough power as it kept powering up and down I could feel it).
Do you have a ps3 slim? I think the slim ports do not draw as much power. Thankfully it works now, but it's still annoying when you don't know why exactly you know? The amount of google searching I did was insane lol. |

Maybe I am not reading it correctly, but where on the wiki does it specify that the USB power is altered because of the power consumption?
