PS3 DEX 4.21 - Play original BD 4.31 games
Hi everyone.
This is my first post, and a really need your help. I've already tried to search the web for a solution, but with no luck. I have a PS3 with DEX 4.21 installed. And because I'm a fan of the Tomb Raider series, I've bought the original game (4.31). But I can't play it. It says that requires the new update 4.31 but can't install it. Can you tell me what can I do to play original Bluray games that require 4.31 updates? Please help. Thank you all. Regards, Nux |

The 1.01 update for tombraider is 04.2100 signed, just download the update for it (DEX) and try from there.
http://yifan.lu/psn/?titleid=BLES01780&env=np Convert this retail PKG to debug, and install ?

Hello, if you're on OFW you should update to OFW 4.25 dex, then ... you must create a backup copy of the game, you have to edit the ParamSFO changing the version of the FW 4.31 to 4.21, then you can play BDemu as is usually done on ps3 DEX, you can not play whit original disc whitout upgrading at 4.31 DEX OFW EDIT: ops... xD.. Thanks for the replies.
@DEFAULTDNB I've downloaded the file, but how can I convert this retail PKG to debug? Can I just copy the file to USB pen and install it? And after that can I play the original game from the Bluray disk? @DebugBrain Is OFW (Original Firmware)? Where can I make a backup copy of the game? With multiman directly to PS3 HDD? And how can I edit the ParamSFO to change the version? Sorry for all the questions, but I dont do this for a while... Thanks again. |

I'm not at home right now, but I can check it in a few hours. You want the BLESxxxx and version right? How can I find that out from the bluray disk? Thought MultiMan? I think my PS3 was in 3.21 or 3.55, but after that I installed the DEX 4.21 version. Thanks again. |

@nux
follow the guide to convert retail update to dex but then your still gonna have trouble running it as their is 2 param_sys checks 1 in param.sfo (use param editor) thats easily fixed...the second is in eboot.bin ....heres what to do ....grab the param.sfo and the eboot.bin from the update after you have installed it ... hdd_0/game/(tomb raider folder)(bles or blus) then decrypt eboot.bin to eboot.elf with true ancestor eboot tool ...open the elf file in hex editor and search for this 24 13 BC C5 F6 00 33 00 00 00 change the 2 numbers after the last 00 to 33 then save it , resign it as debug and copy it and your edited param.sfo back into hdd_0/game/(tomb raider folder) and it should boot no problem.

BLES01780 should say so on the spine of the game box, on the disc and definitely through mM
![]() There is no debug update for the game, only retail AFAIK.

@harryoke
I've already have a .PKG of TR 1.01 update for DEX, and already install it. Is that what your talking about when saying "hdd_0/game/(tomb raider folder)(bles or blus)"? Or do I need to copy the game from Bluray disk into PS3 HDD? Can't I just install the PS3UPDATE.PUP of 4.31 to DEX 4.21? (noob question?) |
