If you calmed down and cared to look closely instead of automatically catagorizing anything hellsing9 posts as an annoying rant, you would find that the entire article is a quote from a source, not a personal rant.

I like the article. Very interesting. Lets just see what happens with the ps4. If sony doesnt do this just right they are going to lose alot of sony followers to microsoft

I would almost always agree that hellsings front pages belong in the forums instead of front paged but this was a good read and it shows that his English is improving too. When he was pasting those pointless dongle mfg findings that was annoying as all hell(sing) but this is an article, not so much news. I still enjoyed it and I'm thankful to find it on the fromt page because I never go forum crawling. Thanks hellsing, I don't hate you anymore.

The reason for non-backwards compatibility shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Lol...did you really expect $ony to give something out for free? Their whole agenda is to push for online, cash-secured gaming and most of their fanboys are playing right into it. At this point in time we should NOT be paying to play PSx and PS2 games from Cobra, $ony, or anybody. As long as there is a way to charge for it you can bet your sweet, tender ass that $ony is going to do it. You can argue all you like but that only makes you naive. That's it. Simple as that.

Not being able to play my previous titles is a pain. This is why I will be waiting. I did shell out for the Wii U. It has promise. The ps4, not so much. When I think of Sony, I think of Sega and all the awesome hardware that they had in their hay-day. Yet I also remember that being the downfall of the console side of Sega. Price plus hard to program equals a bow out of the arms race. For me this is the beginning of the end of Sony's Console years. I predict that with a messy new system, the down fall of the PlayStation.

They do have to pay a license fee, it's the reason that they stopped supporting SACD on the slim PS3's. Sony isn't run as one company, all the divisions have to make a profit. One division buying from another won't affect the bottom line, but it will affect whether one makes a profit or not.

It's entirely possible that the drive in the PS4 won't be able to read CD's. Although my guess is that it probably will.

It will come down to whether they see a benefit in porting the existing PS1 emulator to the PS4, when it won't directly generate income. I suspect there will be employees that will want to do it but may not be allowed. How that plays out will be interesting.

Sony are notorious for being money grabbing bstrds...I'm surprised they havnt made the PS4 so it needs a special kind of electricity that you have to buy directly from them to run the console.
