YLOD Help with Downgrading!!!

Oh man I'm going bananas. I have a sur-001 motherboard PS3 slim.

Using the e3 flasher. I haven't even been able to get a dump off this board.

Background: Soldered on wires using the e3 linker. I believe there was a bad connection on the linker (potentially a bad trace). Anyways, the console was booting up to a black screen after I tried to do a dump with the middle switch up only on the e3 flasher.

I got a new E3 linker and reconnected all the lines, multimeter tested them, tried to do the backup step again and then I got a YLOD!!!!

I then attached the norTristate to give it power enough to dump the nand. Can't even do that. STILL YLOD!!

I've attached pics of what my setup looks like. I'm seriously wiggin out right now. Is there any hope for this console? I haven't been able to dump anything from it and now its YLODing. Can anyone explain to me why that would have happened? I'm just trying to READ a NOR, not write anything.

Thanks!!! and I hope someone has good news for me.

Damnit I can't post pics because i only have 6 posts!

You may have to clean the thermal compound off, and apply new. It is most likely because the heat shields are not flush with the heat sink.

Thanks for the reply! From your expertise, is it possible to brick a console simply in the dumping phase? Will try your suggestion

No. If you have only made dumps, and did not flash anything, it is not bricked.

You said you soldered SBE to Nor Tristate? If the PS3 does not stay on with the 1st switch up on the flasher, then it is a hardware problem.
