So steps to take.
1. Format HDD in a pc as fat32
2. Put the 999 downgrade on a fat32 USB
3. Insert newly formatted HDD into PS3
4. Inset USB into the USB slot closest to the Blue-ray drive
5. Follow on screen instructions.
6. When your back on the XMB
Install OFW from the XMB. Then do the Q&A and check it works. Then install the latest rogero from XMB
You're wrong, I hate it when people provide false info! The latest Rogero can be installed from a freshly installed HDD, no need to go through all this! If you don't believe me check Rogero's v2.05 post on tortuga-cove:
HDD can be swapped/changed anytime and the CFW will re-install without any problem
@Someone1 , as I said in my previous post, because you don't know on which Rogero you are, install v2.05 from XMB, format ur hdd to fat32 on ur pc, put it back in ur ps3, it will ask u to re-install the system software, plug in ur usb with rogero v2.05 on it and install it.

Don't worry, the PS3 won't install 4.30 OFW on its own! It will only install whatever you put on ur flash drive or disk so make sure you remove any original game disk from the drive.

It is wrong and it is not safer either.

You said

When you say "you can't" and "you need", this means you're explicit and you're ruling it out and you're wrong by ruling it out.

You did say "It's wise to flash 3.55 OFW after a new HDD install" later, but it was only after @3absiso had disagreed with you and said it's safer.

But it is not safer either, ask both @Rogero and @Cyberskunk and they will both tell you that you can swap/change your HDD while on the latest Rogero or Rebug without having to downgrade to 3.55 first and their 4.xx CFW will install fine, there's no risk of a brick or anything and it's not safer to downgrade to 3.55 first.

Many people have false info that it's safer to install from Recovery Mode, that you need to downgrade to 3.55 first, that you need to disable spoofers before upgrading your CFW, all this is obsolete now with the latest CFWs, it was never safer to install from Recovery Mode, it was just needed because the install from XMB would fail (without bricking), so you could always try installing from XMB and if it fails you would do it from Recovery Mode. As for downgrading to 3.55 first, this was just needed with the earlier 4.xx Rogero CFWs.

Exactly, that's the whole point, to correct his false info, but the problem is that he doesn't admit that his point is wrong...

All he has to do is just say "sorry my bad, u'r right" instead of arguing! There's nothing wrong with admitting that you're wrong, if i was wrong and someone corrects me i would admit it and learn! As u said, we all learn something new everyday and there's no shame in that, no one is perfect and we all do mistakes but the important thing is to admit that we did them and learn from them!
