Is there a way - any way - to tell when the system was upgraded?

I got scammed on a local eBay clone: purchased a 3.55, got a 4.31, the seller claims it's my fault. (It's not).

So I'm looking for a way to prove this. I will try accessing the HD from Ubuntu and maybe screenshot the file creation dates. What folders should I be looking into? Maybe you can tell me if that would work before I buy the adapter. The part about decrypting is still unclear.

If you have another idea please let me know.

Hah well he's very insistent that I upgraded. But there's no Rogero logo at boot or Multiman or * install packages on it. And CFW would be a prerequisite for spoofing afaik.

If you purchased a OFW 3.55 there wouldn't be any rogero or install package files anyway since it's Original firmware unless you ordered a ps3 with custom firmeware 3.55 already installed.

I am extremely tempted to do that, it's not far away either. But I must act within what the law allows.
The worst is what he's writing on the dispute page of the auction site - that he has no words, I lie, and he'll only accept a return "if it's on 3.55 as he shipped it".

There's some indication in the Wiki of this being possible, but I doubt that I'm l33t enough without a tutorial :/
