No it will not format the HDD, if you follow METHOD1.

can u give me a different link for the samsung multi console update the 1 in the link i cant find how to dload it for some reason

and u say in 1 of your post that u do the e3 downgrade flow process evry time u update the e flasher with that samsung multi console update why do u do that and what is a e3 downgrade flow process fella

You only need to use the update.bin once. After you have used it to update the flasher, you can use the flasher on as many different PS3s you want. No need to update again.

lol i dont either i jus read in a conversation u was having with some1 just tried find it but cant u said every time u update the flasher u with samsung update u also said u do the e3 downgrade flow process i aint got a clue just read it hahah

Hi this is my first post so i hope im in the right place as it concerns this guide......I followed the guide step by step had to replace the clip a couple of times then it went great.I did all my backups and everything was ok rebuilt my ps3 and went into recovery mode i changed the CEX_DOWNGRADER_PUP to PS3UPDAT and put it into the UPDATE folder in the PS3 folder pressed start and select.After checking update it said it was preparing everything went fine it got to 100% and the ps3 restarted.This is where the problem came ...it said 4.25 to 3.55 update press ps button to continue...when i did it said firmware corrupted does any1 know what i did wrong or why this may of happened..it is so frustrating....so near yet so far lol.

Redownload the CEX_DOWNGRADER PUP. And check the md5 with md5.exe. md5 = 49D80E07FC1F5CA1B0840E02E94635DB

Thanks for pointing that out. It should says repeat step 3. and 4.
Just something I missed when updating the guide. It means make more dumps and validate.

what do i do when ive checked the md5 it says the codes match when downgrading from 4.31 to 3.55 it says corrupted data is there a newer downgrade pup or is it always 4.25 to 3.55 ive followed every step in the e3 flasher guide made plenty of backups now it says the system software can not be run correctly connect storage media that contains 4.31 or later.I thought i was so close but now its told me the downgrader pup file is corrupted is there a solution?please help.....and i have changed it to PS3UDAT.PUP and put it in the 2 folders
