Hello.

I was trying to downgrade my ps3, and start instalation the E3. Everything went goog during the instalation of the e3. When i turned on the ps3, it shuts down after 1 or 2 secounds. Thought it was because the e3 clip, i disconnected it, and tried to boot again. This time the ps3 start, and keept on green light, but nothing else happened, no power on usb ports, no hdd led, nothing, just the fan, and bluray start ok.
Inserted a bluray disc, and after a bit push the button and it came out normal, but nothing else happened, the ps3 didnt went to xmb nothing...

I din't check if it was ok (before instalation of the e3), but i thought it was a prblem from hardware or something like that, or the clip damaged the nor chip (sampson chip)? I already use e3 to others ps3 (one fat that is mine, and to others slims one from a cousin and another from a friend - both cechg2504A 0D). So i dont know what happend with this one. It's a ps3 that i bought recently, and i played with it last week, but since there, it was off because of my work. And yeasterday tried to downgraded, and that happended to me...
It's the ps3 dead? GLOD? Because, i dind't yet started the downgrade. Don't know if someone (cousin or friends) touch it...i only know that the ps3 it's power on and nothing else happens to it. Tried to disconnet the bluray to see if it was power issues...but no...nothing happens...i already tried everything regarding power (dind't test with other power supply, but think the problem isn't there...)...

If anyone can helping...or say something, i'll be very appreciated... Thank you.

it acts the same as when you solder a wire from tristate to ground if you ask me.
do you have a multimeter to check if the nor is getting the 3,3V?

is it a JSD-001 board?

Yes i have a multimeter.
It's JTP 001.

How to i check if nor is getting 3.3v?

I forgot to tell, but it seems the nor is getting hotter...is that suposed to happen? Or it's normal that nor chips eat up...

if the nor is getting hot then it's getting power, i don't think in your situation it should get hot, but i'm not an expert on this.

@Sarah1331 or @baileyscream or @playerkp420 are more experienced i think.

Was it hard to take the motherboard off of the heat sink? It may be when you pulled it apart, you damaged the solder under the RSX chip.
Or it could be you just need to clean the thermal paste, and apply new.

i wouldnt have though the thermal paste would make it freeze @playerkp420

i have had a few ps3's give this "GLOD" when a solder pad on the address lines has come off after doing a soldered downgrade.

if a data line comes off it red lights after 5 sec (slightly slower than a ylod error)

so i wonder if the clip has knocked a leg (or more than 1) and broke to solder to it.

if its an address line leg then this would give this "GLOD" (acting like the tristate is set to gnd)

@ruroni @Mr.Dutch yes the NOR will get hot in normal use so as yours is hot then it is getting power.

Well no, i dont think it was hard, i think it was normal. I just lifted it. Do you think it was because of some force applied to the clip, may have damage something? In the other 2 mboards from the other 2 slim i unlock, i did the same thing, aplied some force (with a soft material like a sponge, dont know the specific name), and inserted the screews of the fan, so that it wont heat up when downgrading, but when i tried to power on, the first time with the e3 it powers down within 1 or 2 secs, without the e3, it powers up, but it stays like that....then i put e3 again, and it was the same, the ps3 powers on, and stays on without power on the hdd...or usb ports....or something else...i hear the hdd start...but, the hdd led doesnt light up, or blink normal...but if i put my finger in the led it lights up...maybe static does that....

I really dont know what happen to the ps3...i always did this, and this was the only time that this happend to me...i already downgraded a ps3 slim eith the same board...and chip...this time, i dind check if the ps3 was ok when i started the downgrade, because last wee it was ok...so i thought it was ok, so proced to install e3.

Yeah, maybe the Nor legs were damaged from too much pressure.

The scratches on the board at the top of the nor, were already there, that was told to me, but they are superficial, i think it don't influenced any thing...but i don't know..!
