Hi, Just need help from PS3 experts here in terms of fixing PS3.

My problem is that my Slim PS3 keeps on freezing whenever i play any game or watch or just by using it without doing anything (idle mode). My PS3 is just 3 yrs old, not used heavily because this problem started since 2011. No PS3 repairing here in UAE.

I tried everything:

1. Rebuilding Database
2. Restore File System
3. New HDD
4. Change Thermal Paste
5. Do a Fan mod so that GPU and CPU stay at 50-60 C

So i will not use my PS3 and let it stay there for a month then, i try to play games again. Surprisingly, no freezing happens and i can play 2-3 hrs for 4days. At the 5th day, started to freeze again after 15 min. then when i restart i can use it for about 5 min before it freeze again.

I just do this cycle again, not use it for a month and then same story..

Re-balling can fix this kind of issue? i really want to use my PS3 to its fullest... the games i think i finished playing before this problem occurs are MSG4 and GOW 1,2,3.

Suggestions, help or recommendation are much needed..

Have you tried changing the hard drive?

Maybe it is going bad?

What model# is your ps3?

Yep... it's in # 3, new HDD.. PS3 Slim model CECH2004B.

Try reinstalling/upgrading your firmware. When I bought my ps3 2 years ago I also had this problem of constant freezing and crashing on 3.55 cfw, but reinstalling my cfw and going kmeaw had solved it.
