The firmware 2.40
hi
i was just wondring: maybe there's a security flaw in the 2.40 firmware and maybe $ony noticed that at the last moment so they pretended that 2.40 bricks the p$3 Did anyone try something with that firmware? Did anyone check for a flaw in it?? |

Yes fair idea, i wonder if going in and out of in game xmb on 2.40 might cause something, who knows?

I believe there was something wrong with how you downloaded it via Network Update. If I remember correctly, anybody who downloaded it to a USB or memory stick didnt find any problems.
Here is a thread about the findings.

i downloaded via network update and didn't have any problems too...
40 GB Sku ... i think the 60 gb owners have the most problems cause i think they change some of the hardware in the new skus (ie. GTA4 Problems were mostly on 60 gb consoles.) |
