Delete the old toolbox and install the new one (install package files/ PS3 harddrive)
Make a new flash dump using the new toolbox.
(Make several flashdumps and check the md5's to see that they are identical)
Delete the old files you have BUT KEEP THE 'DUMP' FILE.
Convert your new FLASHfile to DEX using CEX2DEX and rename it to DEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN.
Put the DEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN file on a usbstick and flash it using the toolbox.
reboot the console.
Then in the toolbox activate REBUG mode using DEBUG and DEX.
Reboot the console.
Open toolbox and swap the kernel.
Reboot the console.
Done

Many thanks, this helped. Now on 4.30.2 REX, fully converted to DEX.

Not really sure what benefits this gives me yet but I like to keep up-to-date.

Any news on the Rebug 4.30 DEX CFW? Surely now they have released this CEX CFW and have successfully patched the 4.30 FW they could adapt the 4.30 DEX OFW to create a fully functional DEX CFW.

what if im in still in dex mode in rex 4.21.2 then just straightly updated to rex 4.30.2 w/o flashing back to cex, what will happen? and is the dump from 4.21.2 same with 4.30.2's? thank you. i just need to clarify.

Thats the first thing i tried. It just gives you a corrupted update error.

Hello people. I am currently on CFW 3.55 KMEAW and havent updated or done anything to my PS3 since. No QA flag (whatever that is) or anything like that.

I would like to update my PS3 to this FW. Is there any noob-friendly brickproof guide?
