An user here had the same Warning in BWE Validator in the bootldr area and the dump worked . Strange thing is that the dump was validated ok in the dump checking thread .

If i would have flashed the e3_downgrade.bin instead of the patched backup would i have had more chances of recovery ? Because the e3_downgrade.bin wouldn't have touched the metldr + bootldr areas and i would have been able to maybe , make a good dump after .
Anyone else with an idea please post ..maybe try the 3 musketeers method ?
What are the chances of manually rebuilding the metldr ? Maybe some algoritm program that would generate random values , maybe one of them will work

As for CECHJ , this SKU is rare but the motherboard is DIA-002 which is very common

e3_down is even more faulty then the other methods. what is done is done. you can not rebuild it (i dont intend to be mean ). also dia -002 mobo are a little ylod magnet. my own experience.

I guess the only way to rebuild properly the metldr is to get one decrypted and use your per console key to re-encrypt it for your own console.

Hope you got your keys on the side and someone with the knowledge to guide you in this.

You may get some ideas from:
Per_Console_Keys
The talk from Hellsing9 about CEX-DEX gives hints on how to use the keys it's good reading too: Hellsing9 Talk page

Some will correct me if I assume wrong, but seeing what may happen when playing with the flash, I guess that having a dump is not the only requirement to be safe, it seems best to have the per console key(s) as well as decrypted metldr/EID/bootldr... actually anything related to the per console data in flash and the knowledge to re-encrypt what is possible to.

Are the Per Console Keys stored in the NOR Dump ? The metldr i would have to use has to be from CECHJ with the exact same size as mine or any SKU with DIA-002 motherboard ?

Nop, you cannot get that from just a Flash dump, I've no idea how you can get them with a hardware solution...

You may understand more with this

11. Turn off the ps3 from the rear and turn it back on.
12. Enter FSM (Dongle, Power/Eject etc)
13. If it accepts the FSM and turns off then get some beer and party.
so a console will not go into fsm unless it has been succesfully flashed with a patched dump?

each time reading this false claim that the original e3downgrade.bin is faulty i'm getting more dumb..thx for that...anyway it's total bull..no offense but it's tested so many times o a "first time" E3clip downgrade, this coreos patch comes with the E3flasher, why? because it just works..each time...brick while downgrading? connection fault..not e3_downgrade.bin's fault at all...

aftter the initial E3 clip downgrade and u make mistake..then we can use the Progskeet patches and these where made not for E3 at first, ofcourse one can use it instead, and it's real handy when u need to unbrick a PS3 and can be done by patching...cuse then the e3_downgrade is useless, we need the patches then.....once agagin first initial E3 flasher downgrade there's no need to use patches instead, not saying u can't but the default e3_downgrade.bin works every time on each NOR console..

@urbananonymous , if your flashing is succesful the console won't get bricked and the USB's will still work , you can continue the downgrade in FSM , simple as that

@ Haz367 , do you know if the NOR is erased entirely when writing e3_downgrade.bin ?

@ Anaria , is the key you are talking about called Per Console Nonce ? It's contained in EID0 , EID3, EID5.
