Here's a method of booting a copy of a PS1 game without modding the PS3 Super Slim.
Just simple swapping.

Is it really worth stressing your PS3 out, just to play PS1 backups ?
Providing that this isn't fake of course.
Also, have you tried this with PS3 backups ?

I watched the video and thought it was crazy to do to a new machine, even crazier if its fake.

On BC consoles, you could do something similar for PS2 backups.

For the first question, no, but it's something at least LOL.
And this is not fake, the method was around since the first fat PS3, but it had to be opened to swap , but because the Super Slim can be opened manually, it can be done easily, here is another video watch?v=ITPOYeaUI54

i have seen new superslims for about £150.

also i'm with greg i wonder if its possible to do this with ps3 discs.

i really need to get this superslim i have fixed propperly so i can do some tests.

12GB version is £159.... I used to work for GAME... always more expensive.

Would indeed be very interesting if you could swap PS3 games, but surely it couldnt be that simple.

The PS1 emu probably has little authentication on it as it was left in as a POC or so I heard.

come on Mr hater.
its a stepping stone.
some ppl have the same feeling towards all the hard work that went into getting linux back on the ps3. but big things came from it.

now nothing major might not come of this but if there is a possibility that the same can be done for ps3 games then it may be a step in the right direction for having hombrew on disc and swapping so you can launch it on ofw consoles.

or there may be something like being able to hide code in a game and this could be the way to get that code to run like on the wii (i know these are big ifs. but with the posibility being there then who knows )
