@svenmullet

Some blank PNG to get you started!

For the ICON0.PNG, the cover can be resized so I haven't included a blank one for that.

This is such exciting news (and disturbing quite frankly knowing Sony could've easily made everyone who has PS2 games playable in any PS3) but does this render 60gb launch consoles useless now with regards to performance compatiblity? I'm reading that there are graphical glitches, broken AI etc. in some of the posted reports within this thread but is it possible to eradicate them by tweaking the emulators files?

Regardless, great progress for the scene!

Here we go! guide is finished!

[Guide] Convert any PS2 ISO to PS2 Classic

http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php...625#post560625

With this guide finished, I can finally start working on a little app for the PS3 to handle the ISOs, will not be ready today but maybe for the next weekend I have something that can be distributed xD. When that is done, it will not be necessary to manually move or rename the ISOs.

Enjoy!

SeeYa!

I just updated the PS2 Classics GUI 1.3.1 to support the decryption/encryption of the CONFIG.

Now I see that one of the major issues now is that multiple games now have the same Content ID and should replace the ISO.BIN.ENC in the /game/NPxD00000/ folder.

I have a theory and I need the help of someone that have time to confirm if this work?

The steps are:
1- Copy the rap of your base game (PS2) as a new random content id. eg. EP0000-NPED12345_00-AAAABBBBCCCCDDDD.rap
2. Copy the new rap to the RAPS folder of PS2 Classic GUI
3. Extract the files of the PKG of your base game (except CONFIG and ISO.BIN.ENC, they will be deleted/replaced anyway)
4. Launch PS2 Classic GUI, select the ISO and enter the new content id. eg EP0000-NPED12345_00-AAAABBBBCCCCDDDD
(it should display the same KLIC of your base game)
5. Add the LIMG header and encrypt the ISO as ISO.BIN.ENC
6. Edit the PARAM.SFO on the extracted with the title of the PS2 title.
7. Copy the ISO.BIN.ENC to the base game
8. Rename the extracted folder with the new content id (EP0000-NPED12345_00-AAAABBBBCCCCDDDD), right click and select Make PKG
9. Install both raps (the original and the new created) using reActPSN
10. Install the PKG
11. Test if it works.

Well yeah I know, I was just wondering from a dev's point of view if it were possible to automate this. Has there been any work on getting psp isos to work or is this ps2 only?

@aldostools - Trying to decrypt the config with the updated tool spits out a zero byte file every time.

Check your rap or the klic... I just tested it with Syphon Filter and the CONFIG.DEC returned a file of 218 bytes, with "SCUS-97264" at the end of the file (0xD0-0xD9)

It worked for that game, just tested. Seems to have a problem with Capcom Vs SNK 2

Did you change the param.sfo to the same code as the one for the PS2 iso you're now using (minus the _ and . )

When I encode the ISO, I'm using the same key file as when I extracted the PS2 Classic package (GTA San Andreas) I tried manually editing the ISOs in HxD to include the LIMG magic section, I tried using CaptainCP-X' tool to do it, nothing makes a working ISO.BIN.ENC. Going to try a few more I guess and verify that they are multiples of 16,384 (does the LIMG tool do this automatically?)

If anyone has gotten it to work using GTA-SA as a base, let me know what you did, thanks

You're replying to ancient history, pal! It was that damned CONFIG file causing the problems. I was doing it right after all
