My DEX is on PS3ita 4.21 CFW. And I could play black ops 2 from the original disc. Which needs 4.25.

So yes it will work from the original disc.

Yes, but also preserve the original disc and the laser is important
mainly because it is a ps3 dex,
that has other alternatives.
Reasoning is illogical?
Also Use the BDemu?

If he learns to use the BDemu,
does not need to assistance for the future

Playing the backup on CFW also preserves the laser. Learning how to use CFW would also prevent needing assistance in the future.

That's just me. I like to do things the easy way.

That's just me. I like to do things the easy way.
According to my point of view,
the easiest thing is to use a native function of the console,
without bothering to install and uninstall new cfw to restore the functions that sony removed each time with its fix
When this happens,
users cfw,
always in a hurry to get back the lost functionality,
and very often the various operations needed for new cfw,
can to lead problems and malfunctions,
if I remember correctly in the past and happened more than once.
About you,
I can only confirm that you are a man, or a guy (this I do not know) , very experienced with ps3, and I do not doubt that it is easy for you everything,
but considering that it was understood that nux is inexperienced,
and which has a ps3 dex,
I'm sure of having advised the easiest and sure solution for him which has a dex Ps3,
He managed to do everything and he seemed satisfied,
for me this is not an activity for do money
if I lose my time,
is propagete to know that many people want to keep hidden
even if what I have suggested is not anything new.

Thanks again for all your help.

Can anyone tell me a application for DEX to use as a FTP server?
Also, where do I copy the files to the internal HDD on DEX console? hdd0\GAMES?
I'm downloaded GOD, and I think it has to be played directly from internal HD.

I'm still on DEX 4.21.

Thanks again all.

Nux
Ftp client on the pc side: filezilla
Ftp on the ps3 side: multiman, rebug toolbox or blackbox ftp.

And if by GOD you mean God Of War, it plays just as well on external.
I played it all the way true when I was still on REBUG 4.21.2 full dex mode.
But I would recomend updating to REBUG 4.30.2 rex and be done with patcjes and eboot fixes.

@ev1l51xty51x

Thanks for the reply.
Yeah God of War, I can't copy to external because it has big files that are not supported in FAT32 right?

Is there an easy way to update from DEX 4.21 to REBUG 4.30.2 Rex like you say?

thanks again.

For games with big files use a program called ps3plitter. It will split the big files into 4gb parts on your external hdd. Multiman knows how to handle them and cashes the big file on your internal hdd and play the like that.
As for updating to the latest rebug, you'll need to convert back to cex to update and then back to dex to play all games diskless.
You should check the original rebug release thread here :

On page 2 I wrote a small tut on how to do just that. look for post #65 and #71 if I remember correctly.

Good help you're giving these guys, but me personally, I would not reccommend using a splitter on games like God Of War: Ascension. I think it has probably thrown up the most problems on this forum from doing that.

I'm using it that way. The game is on my external with all the file there.MM just cashes them to internal and I can watch all the extra's. The reason for removing the large extrascin files, is to safe space on the hdd.
