Hectic. Im not really one for trophies to be honost. If I like a game I will drain every ounce out of it with the amount of effort Im willing to give. I dont need trophies to make me feel like Ive acomplished anything. The closest Ive come to that on ps3 was MGS4 when I felt like I had to finnish it at least once on each difficulty and Jak And Daxter. I just had to get every power cell to see that damn ending.

Sony doesnt do things like this out of the greatness of their hearts. From the article it doesnt sound like games are going to be released again so how would they make money from this? Unless Im missing something. Weird

For sure. I know there are a ton of people that go for trophies. Im just not one of them

Plus some games really annoy me when they throw trophies anywhere they can. I can totally understand a trophy for doing something cool or 100 headshots or the like, but when it comes to trophies named "getting started", once you finish the first level of a game, it kind of makes you feel like you're a two year old and the game just gave you a lolly pop for touching the game pad

Sometimes they may aswell throw in a trophy called "King of Booting Games", the first time you put the disc in.

Lol they treat it like a sport i understand when a young kid gets a trophy at the end of the soccer season and gets a trophy or a medal wich encoureges them to play better but to play a game in the first 5 minutes and get a trophy lol honestly its just a market scam to get people to buy games and show off to each other with trophys

Trophies/Archievements are kinda like how Playstation's "Home" was. Before they came out everybody was anticipating for them. Now that they are out people with a bit of brain lost pretty fast their interest since it was a pure fiasco, real retards are eager to get them all and prove to others that will check their account how no-lifers they are... I really enjoy people arguing that trophies/archievements add value to a game, it's like somebody brags that he has the brain of a 5 year old and he does his best so everybody will know that.

This whole Trophies thing reminds me of an old pal of mine that used to brag to everyone at kindergarten how larger than life his father was for having 10 vehicles... honestly, I grinned at it then, and still grin at it now!

And what about if I already achieved all the torphies before?. For example, in MGS for PSX, I really spent months of gameplay and tryed and did everything possible (then GameShark added some other things, like playing as Liquid or Ninja).

The thing is, I don't like trophies because most of them are stupid or insulting or extremely difficult. You can throw away 5 hours of your life for some ****ty trophy.

That's my opinion, but as an old gamer I am, I've already did lots of things and achievements through my games and I don't have the time nor the spirit/energy/enthusiasm/whatever to get them again.

Like the ability go on-line all-of-the-time-whenever-they-want-and-not-get-banned "normal" PS3 users really are into Trophies and if you read back some years threw a fit when they messed with CFW and lost them all or they got all whacked. Personally, I really like the idea of a Trophy/Award/Points/Score system. It's like back in the day after school when you went to the Arcade instead of the "friends house you were doing homework with" and ranked up your name to the top of the list on your favorite game. However, Sony really needs to redesign their interface - it's horrid.
