You could always record the boot up process using PCSX2...

Sure! But I it will not be the same. During conversion, there is quality loss. Decompressing from already compressed video will give you the same result. The only way is to freshly record it again.

Yeah, I thought so, the conversion looked like crap, so I won't waste your time, sorry for not being able to help this time.

Ah, I thought of something, it would be awesome if when we select our game from the Manager, the intro played and then by self reloading the Manager calls the Placeholder self directly, but I guess it would be pretty tricky to do.

Progress Report:

Before I go to sleep here you have some of the stuff I've done...

- Module to swap the Placeholder PS2 ISO is ready (Internal only for now). It will move the ISO.BIN.ENC to the Placeholder "USRDIR" directory and when you run the manager again it will be moved back to where it was (This is specific to the internal PS2 ISOS, in case of external ones they will be handled differently, but I will give details later).

- Virtual Memory Cards are automatically copied from the game directory to the SAVEDATA directory, then when the game is switched back, they will be copied as well (I need to test and see if by doing this every game keep their data).

- A copy of "COVER_FULL.PNG" (this is the cover displayed in the Game List screen) will be made as "PIC0.PNG" to the PS2 Classics Placeholder directory, so when the user select it on the XMB they can see what game is active (I will eventually improve this feature so users can customize this better).

NOTE: I am trying my best to bring this application to all of you as soon as possible but even when I said I would have it probably by this weekend, it will probably take me more time depending on the free time I have here. I have to study for some university tests and I have a few homeworks to do, but please be patient, I will eventually deliver what I have promised

Thanks everyone for understanding and your support.

SeeYa!

The Ps2Classics placeholder already does its magic, so there's no real urgency of getting the PS2 Classics Manager, except for the eye candy and automatic aspect of this function.

@CaptainCPS-X , nobody's pushing you, it's your project, it's your time and, most important: it's your life, man. This project is part of your hobbies, so deliver when you're ready to, and good luck with all your university things.

@CaptainCPS-X

Don't worry and take all the time you need to get this working. No need to rush things. We're already spoilt enough with what we have

Btw, have been playing quite a few PS2 games but never bothered saving any for fearing my saves would overlap since I'm using the same container (GTA:SA). Anyone knows anything about this and if it's safe to save different games using same container?

I've saved with a few now, all under PS2 classics placeholder, without a problem. I may be wrong but it seems like each ISO gets its own "memory card", I was expecting to have to share one between all ISOs.

nice step

why not use symlink? is faster then to copy a file from a to b
after you start a game its mount the iso somewahre from this point its in my unterstanding more easy to symlink a ISO.BiIN.ENC
